In order to secure a cohesive front for success in the upcoming December general elections, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has resolved the conflicts between the Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North, Andy Appiah Kubi, and running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO.
Mr. Appiah Kubi initially opposed NAPO’s selection as Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s running mate, preferring a candidate with stronger grassroots connections, humility, and respect.
Despite this, NAPO was officially endorsed by the National Council and introduced in Kumasi on Tuesday, July 9. Subsequently, on Tuesday, July 16, Andy Appiah Kubi visited NAPO in his office, setting aside their perceived differences.
Both NAPO and Appiah Kubi committed to collaborating towards securing victory for the NPP in the 2024 general elections, following a friendly exchange.
The NPP’s National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye, known as Nana B, expressed contentment with this development in a Facebook post, affirming that the party is now unified and ready to achieve the goal of “breaking the eight”.
The brotherhood is rekindled, NPP vice presidential candidate, Hon Matthew Opoku Prempeh (Napo) and Hon Andy Appiah Kubi earlier today. The NPP is poised to break the 8!!
