Alexander Afenyo-Markin has cautioned members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) against being ensnared by a scheme orchestrated by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) concerning the ongoing parliamentary impasse, which has resulted in four seats being declared vacant.
The minority asserts that it holds the majority in the House; however, the Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, contends that this is merely a tactic employed by the NDC to undermine the political strategy of the ruling New Patriotic Party.
He remarked that the Speaker’s directive was implemented in accordance with the NDC’s overarching political agenda.
They know they are losing the elections. So, this game they are playing last minute is part of the mind to make the country ungovernable to bring chaos and cause confusion. They won’t get it from us.
This is a political party that, in 2020, they did not even collate their figures, yet they claimed the NPP had rigged the elections. They said the Electoral Commission had rigged it and they will repeat the same thing. So, let us be vigilant. Let’s collate, get our figures; let’s work hard.
He expressed this remark during an interview on the morning program ‘Kokrokoo’ aired by Peace FM.
