NPP CONFIDENT IN ELECTORAL SUCCESS FOLLOWING BAWUMIA’S KROBO CAMPAIGN

Madam Abena Osei-Asare, Minister of State at the Finance Ministry and Member of Parliament for Atiwa East, has expressed confidence that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s recent campaign in the Krobo area of the Eastern Region has significantly boosted the party’s electoral prospects ahead of the general elections.

Speaking to journalists, Osei-Asare noted that the local populace has warmly received Dr. Bawumia’s campaign messages, and she would not be surprised if the NPP secures seats in this traditionally National Democratic Congress (NDC) stronghold. Historically, the NDC has consistently won in the Yilo and Lower Manya Krobo constituencies, with the exception of the Upper Manya Krobo constituency, which the NPP captured in 2016.

Joining Dr. Bawumia’s campaign in the area, Osei-Asare voiced her optimism about the NPP’s chances of winning all 33 parliamentary seats in the Eastern Region, including the three seats in Krobo.

“We have only won the Upper Manya Krobo seat in 2016, and I believe it is time to win the rest of the seats here. I am sure our flagbearer’s visit will change the mindset of the people to vote for the NPP,” she stated.

The minister emphasized the party’s strategic focus on additional seats, such as Asuogyaman, and expressed hope that achieving these targets would lead to a clean sweep of all 33 seats in the Eastern Region.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been actively campaigning in the Eastern Region since last week, beginning with a health walk in the Akuapem North constituency before moving on to the Krobo enclave. His efforts have been met with enthusiasm, raising the NPP’s hopes for a strong performance in the upcoming elections.
