The vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 elections, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has assured residents in the Damongo Constituency of strategic investment in the tourism sector if the party wins the December 7 polls and forms the next government.
He said although Damongo hosted some of the country’s most important tourist sites, including the Mole National Park and the Larabanga Mosque, there had not been much investment to unleash the full economic potential of those resources.
I want to assure the people of this area that when the NPP wins the next elections, we will ensure that more attention is given to the management of the tourism resources in this area to increase tourism attraction and create more jobs for the local economy
Dr. Prempeh, who was touring the Savannah Region as part of his campaign, made this statement during a mini rally at Larabanga in the Damongo Constituency last Thursday.
Before Dr. Prempeh addressed the crowd of NPP supporters, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Damongo, Samuel Abu Jinapor, introduced him to the constituents, praising him as
a hardworking, humble, and dedicated Ghanaian who truly cares about the country and its people
Achievements
In his address, Dr. Prempeh made a strong case to the people of Damongo, urging them to continue supporting the NPP government and their MP. He highlighted the transformative impact of the government’s Free Senior High School policy, emphasizing how it has revolutionized access to secondary education for many Ghanaians.
He also highlighted that the creation of the Savannah Region, with Damongo as its capital, was not only a historic accomplishment of the NPP government but also a significant milestone that had spurred development for the people.
When you vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to become the next president and maintain your MP in Parliament, you will get more development
When it was his turn to speak at the rally, Mr. Jinapor expressed confidence that the people of Damongo would acknowledge the NPP’s hard work in the area by delivering
a decisive and overwhelming
victory in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
It is few days to elections, and we will defeat the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and build here in Damongo, a party that will be dominant and win elections over and over again
Mr. Jinapor, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, stated that the Damongo Constituency had transformed into a “stronghold” and a “secure seat” for the NPP.
Mr. Jinapor further stated that, through the numerous infrastructure projects implemented in the constituency, the NPP had effectively displaced the NDC and established Damongo as a stronghold for the party.
