The Greater Accra regional chairman of the NPP, Divine Otoo Agorhom, is optimistic about the party’s prospects in the upcoming December elections. He believes that the NPP will make significant strides in this critical region, which has historically served as a swing area in the last seven elections.
Given its importance, Agorhom emphasizes that it is a key region to monitor closely on December 7.
Reflecting on the previous election in 2020, Agorhom noted that the NDC’s John Mahama secured 1,328,196 votes, outpacing President Akufo-Addo, who received 1,253,005 votes. This result allowed the NDC to claim victory in the Greater Accra Region. Furthermore, Agorhom pointed out that the NPP lost seven parliamentary seats to the NDC during that election, highlighting the competitive nature of the region.
In a recent discussion with Bonohene Baffour Awuah on Atumpa, which aired on Asaasepa 107.3 on Tuesday, September 24, Agorhom expressed his confidence that the NPP is well-positioned to reclaim many of these lost seats and strengthen its presence in Greater Accra. He underscored the party’s commitment to engaging with voters and addressing their concerns as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
NPP will win not less than 21 out of the 34 parliamentary seats in the Greater Accra Region
There are new seats we are targeting to snatch from the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC]. If we add that to what we have… we will go beyond 21
