Leading up to the general elections on December 7, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the spokesperson for the Bawumia campaign, has expressed confidence that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will emerge victorious despite Fitch Solutions’ prediction of a win for the National Democratic Congress.
During an appearance on JoyNews Desk on Thursday, July 18, he underscored that although the current state of the economy poses challenges, the NPP is dedicated to enhancing the economic conditions for the people of Ghana.
Mr. Aboagye highlighted that inflation has decreased from approximately 54% to 23%, signifying economic advancement. He emphasized that the NPP is actively engaged in campaigning and efforts to showcase its dedication to improving the country’s economic situation.
As we speak, we are in the five northern regions campaigning. Until we get to the polls and ballot in December, we believe that we have a responsibility to ensure that the Ghanaian voter has a reason to vote for us. That is what we are doing.
According to Fitch Solutions’ prediction, 54% of participants are in favor of John Mahama, the candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). Mike Kruiniger from Fitch Solutions emphasized that economic considerations play a crucial role in shaping voter preferences.
Sammy Gyamfi, the Communications Officer for NDC, expressed appreciation for the forecast but stressed that the party will not become complacent. He affirmed the NDC’s commitment to diligently work towards achieving a decisive victory and to save Ghana from the alleged corrupt and incompetent Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government. Gyamfi highlighted the importance of the NDC maintaining vigilance and concentration in their campaign endeavors.
We will not be complacent, we will not be excited about any poll however factual or credible that poll may be… We are not going to allow this to get to our head and get (us) complacent at all.
