NPP WOMEN’S WING APPEALS TO VOTERS IN GUAN

The Oti regional women’s organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alice Mensah, along with her campaign team, has adopted a distinctive strategy to garner support for the forthcoming general elections scheduled for 7 December.

In a striking display, they knelt before the residents of the Guan constituency, earnestly requesting their backing for the NPP.

Their appeal is directed towards rallying support for both the party’s presidential candidate, Mahamudu Bawumia, and the parliamentary candidate, Michael Osibo.

Mensah and her team are actively touring the Oti region, engaging with constituents on a personal level. Their objective is straightforward: to showcase the NPP’s achievements and the promising prospects for future development under Bawumia’s leadership.

Dubbed the “OTI Women Alignment with Dr. Bawumia; It Is Possible” campaign, their goal is to persuade voters that the NPP is the sole party capable of revitalizing the nation’s prospects.

During their community visits, Mensah highlighted the developmental progress achieved in Hohoe under John Peter Amewu’s leadership as a benchmark for potential advancements in the Guan constituency.

She underscored the party’s successes, including the establishment of the Guan district, which she argues lays the groundwork for even greater advancements in the region under a government led by Bawumia.

Under the NPP government, [the] Oti region has been created, roads constructed, free senior high school policy [has] benefitted many residents in the Oti region.

The unprecedented DRIP initiative programme has brought us a relief on our road network; now our farmers will not experience post-harvest losses because the roads are now good for them to transport their farm produce to the various markets.

She encouraged voters to support the NPP to guarantee ongoing progress, particularly in newly established regions such as Oti. Mensah also made a sincere call for unity, urging NPP members to foster peace and inform others about the party’s vision, irrespective of their political beliefs.

During her visit to the Likpe Bala market, Mensah and her team interacted directly with traders, highlighting the advantages a Bawumia presidency would offer, including improved market facilities and overall economic advancement.

The campaign tour has included various community initiatives, such as support for the Guan District’s “Business in a Box” apprenticeship program, an initiative led by Michael Osibo with assistance from the MasterCard Foundation.

At Likpe Mate, Mensah encouraged apprentices to fully utilize their training to achieve self-sufficiency and contribute to the local economy. Her campaign progressed with door-to-door and community outreach in Likpe Agbozume as part of a comprehensive strategy to engage voters through personal connections.

Mensah emphasized that votes, rather than violence, are essential for the NPP to break the eight-year election cycle and sustain its developmental agenda.

We need votes to win this election, not violence, so I want to call on all our youths to stay away from violence and rather help campaign for the party to win the heart of Ghanians to vote massively for the New Patriotic Party.

Various communities, including Likpe Mate, Likpe Agbozume, Lolobi Ashiambi, Lolobi Bume, Mempeasem, and Lolobi Odumi, have featured prominently on this rigorous campaign trail. Mensah reports that the reception in these areas has been overwhelmingly positive.
