OVER 1,500 NDC SUPPORTERS SWITCH TO NPP IN NSAWAM ADOAGYIRI

In a notable political shift, over 1,500 supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), known as “Hasken Zabarma,” have switched their allegiance to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency, Eastern Region.

Leading the group, Munkaila Garibah, also called Home Boga, shared in an interview with Peace FM’s Eastern Regional Correspondent, Michael Akrofi, that their decision was driven by the government’s development projects in their Zongo community.

Garibah explained that they had previously voted against the NPP due to a long-held belief from their elders that the party would repatriate them if elected, a notion they now see as untrue.

We were told by our elders in the Zongo community to vote against the NPP or risk being expelled if they came to power. Despite voting against them, Hon. Annoh Dompreh, our MP, has continuously brought development to us and never neglected us. We now realize that the NPP is the party that can truly help us, which is why we have all decided to leave the NDC

He urged eligible voters to show strong support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Hon. Annoh Dompreh by casting their votes for the NPP in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Hon. Frank Annoh Dompreh, the MP for the area and Majority Chief Whip, expressed his appreciation to the party executives, community elders, and the entire Zongo community for their steadfast support and dedication to the NPP.

He stressed that the decision to join the NPP was made voluntarily, reflecting the true wishes of the people.

Highlighting the NPP’s accomplishments, Hon. Annoh Dompreh pointed to several infrastructure projects in the Zongo community, including the construction of an astro turf pitch and a library.

He also noted that the defection of over 1,500 NDC supporters reflects the NPP’s progress and predicted that more would follow, describing it as a “political Jihad” where the defectors choose to uphold their religious values by supporting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP.

Hon. Annoh Dompreh concluded by urging both Christians and Muslims to unite behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, praising his achievements and vision, and calling him a candidate who resonates with all Ghanaians.

He expressed confidence that the NDC would face a significant defeat against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 elections.
