Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and Flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), had a fruitful visit to the Vatican today for a meeting with His Holiness Pope Francis.
This landmark meeting allowed Dr. Bawumia to discuss many national and global issues with Pope Francis and to strengthen Ghana’s longstanding relationship with the Vatican State and the Pope.
Dr. Bawumia also had a meeting with the Vatican Secretary for Relations with States and International Organisations, H.E Paul Richard Gallagher, and Ghana’s pride, Cardinal Peter Appiah Turkson, who was kind to show him around the Vatican.
Pope Francis, the spiritual leader of the Catholic Church, extended his heartfelt prayers and blessings to the nation of Ghana and its leadership.
