The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, made a compelling case for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the country’s ideal future leaders during the NPP Manifesto Launch at GSTS, Takoradi on August 18, 2024.
In his address, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of not just having well-crafted plans and policies, but also the character, strength, and determination of those leading the country. He underscored that effective leadership requires more than just a strategic vision—it demands leaders who are deeply committed and capable of delivering on their promises.
I don’t think there’s anybody in this country better placed to testify about the capacity of our presidential ticket than me. I am the best placed person to give the testimony, and clearly also the best placed to appeal to the people of Ghana to give the stewardship of this country for the next eight years to Dr. Bawumia and his running mate, NAPO.
The President also praised Dr. Bawumia’s unwavering dedication and integrity throughout his political career, highlighting the Vice President’s consistent commitment to Ghanaian values and progress..
In opposition as well as in government, [Dr. Bawumia] has been a model of loyalty, of honesty, of dedication, and of patriotism. This is a man who lives and breathes Ghana
Whatever commitments [Dr. Bawumia] has made before you and before the people of Ghana, I can put my hand on my heart and say he will deliver on each one of those commitments.
