PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO: DR. BAWUMIA IS THE BEST CHOICE IN THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE

President Akufo-Addo has once again asserted that the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is a more desirable choice between the two main competitors in the upcoming presidential race.

He stated that Dr. Bawumia’s exceptional qualities make him the best-suited candidate to lead and position Ghana for the fourth industrial revolution.

I genuinely believe that the two main contestants seeking office in Ghana today to be the sixth President of the Fourth Republic, he [Dr Bawumia] is a superior choice

He stressed that he has no doubt about Dr. Bawumia’s capabilities, having worked with him for sixteen years as his running mate and Vice President. He described Dr. Bawumia as loyal, incredibly intelligent, and deeply committed to the well-being of Ghana.

President Akufo-Addo also highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s leadership in initiating and developing the Agenda 111 policy, which aims to expand healthcare infrastructure and ensure equitable access to quality primary healthcare across the country.

Furthermore, he praised Dr. Bawumia for his significant role in Ghana’s digitization efforts, preparing the nation for the fourth industrial revolution.

President Akufo-Addo stressed that he would never advise Ghanaians to elect someone incapable of steering the country’s affairs, emphasizing this out of his love and respect for the people of Ghana.

He pointed out that John Dramani Mahama, the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was the only President in the Fourth Republic who failed to serve two consecutive terms due to his inability to meet the expectations of the Ghanaian people.

He further noted that apart from the late John Evans Atta Mills, who passed away before completing his first term, the other three presidents had their mandates renewed because Ghanaians were satisfied with their performance during their first terms.

President Akufo-Addo also questioned Mr. Mahama’s intentions to seek the presidency again, given that he left no lasting legacy during his time as Vice President and President.

He credited the late Jerry John Rawlings with the concept of district assemblies, John Agyekum Kufuor with the establishment of the National Health Insurance Scheme, and himself with the introduction of the Free Senior High School Policy, noting that these would be the legacies for which they would be remembered.

He said that whenever the name John Dramani Mahama is mentioned, it is associated with “Dumsor, Dumsor, Dumsor,” pointing out that when power was transferred to his government, the Electricity Company of Ghana was still issuing load shedding schedules.

He criticized the NDC for failing to provide a clear roadmap for the much-discussed proposed 24-Hour Economy Policy, outlining how it would be implemented if they were to win power.

President Akufo-Addo concluded his speech by urging Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Bawumia, stating that he is destined to succeed him.
