PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO ENDORSES DR. BAWUMIA

President Nana Akufo-Addo has urged Ghanaians to support the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to maintain the party’s governance.

He emphasized that retaining the NPP in power would allow for the continuation of significant flagship initiatives, notably the Free Senior High School (SHS) program, which has positively impacted millions of families across the nation.

During his engagement with the chiefs and residents of Tamale, the President characterized the party’s candidate as reliable and capable of advancing such commendable policies, thereby fostering the nation’s economic growth.

Bawumia is reliable, a person whose work can be trusted, consistent, and clear in his mind.

He additionally urged the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, to refrain from avoiding a national debate, which he believes would allow Ghanaians to inquire about his stance on the Free SHS initiative.

The people of Ghana deserve the debate so they can see who is doing what and saying what and representing what. Mr. Mahama, which is which? What should the Ghanaian people take from you as your position on the Free Senior High School?

Is it safe with you? Are you going to continue it or you’re going to review it?

Dr. Bawumia, along with several members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has repeatedly urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer to engage in a debate.

However, the NDC has declined this invitation on numerous occasions, asserting that its flagbearer will not participate in a debate with Dr. Bawumia. President Akufo-Addo has expressed that re-electing former President Mahama would have dire consequences, as he would likely reverse significant policies and programs that have positively impacted many Ghanaians during the past eight years of NPP governance.

This concern is underscored by Mahama’s refusal to debate Dr. Bawumia on these policies. During his ‘Thank You Tour’ in the North East Region, President Akufo-Addo urged voters to be wary of the tactics employed by former President John Mahama and to refrain from supporting him in the upcoming election on December 7.

In discussing policies, the President highlighted that former President Jerry John Rawlings is recognized for his contributions to decentralization within the District Assembly, while former President John Agyekum Kufuor is remembered for implementing the National Health Insurance policy.

The current NPP administration is particularly noted for the Free Senior High School (SHS) initiative. Conversely, President Akufo-Addo remarked that former President Mahama is primarily associated with the persistent power outages, commonly referred to as ‘dumsor,’ which severely impacted the nation and disrupted numerous businesses during the NDC’s time in office.
