The Running Mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has advised former President John Mahama to continue embracing his so-called “dead goat syndrome.”
While addressing NPP supporters in Juaso, located in the Ashanti Region, NAPO emphasized that the statements made by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate in the 2016 and 2020 elections indicate a lack of genuine concern for Ghana’s progress.
He referenced the discontinuation of allowances for nursing and teacher trainees and urged Ghanaians to refrain from excessive mobile phone charging if they desire a stable electricity supply.
It is worth noting that in 2015, the former President claimed to be unaffected by threats of strikes and protests in Ghana, asserting that he would not be swayed by such tactics in the approaching election year.
By adopting what he termed a “dead goat syndrome,” the ex-president expressed his determination not to be misled by the strategies employed by workers.
Mr. Mahama subsequently explained that his use of the idiomatic expression stemmed from the frustration linked to the deregulation of petroleum prices.
He expressed his inability to tolerate the widespread labor unrest that was occurring at that time. Nevertheless, the former Energy Minister has maintained that there has been no alteration in Mr. Mahama’s stance.
To make matters worse, he said he was a dead goat who was not afraid of a knife. Since no dead goat has ever come back to life, he should remain so.
