RICHARD AHIAGBAH QUESTIONS THE NDC’S DECISION TO AVOID LEGAL ACTION

Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has raised concerns regarding the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and their decision not to pursue legal action to compel the Electoral Commission to conduct a forensic audit of the voter register.

He noted that in 2016, when the NPP was in opposition and faced similar issues with the voter register, they sought judicial intervention to prompt the Commission to rectify the register.

Ahiagbah emphasized that the NPP’s legal efforts led to significant electoral reforms and encouraged the NDC to consider a similar approach. He expressed these views in a post on his X platform in response to the situation.

Why is the NDC not going to court to seek redress or to compel the Electoral Commission to take up their demand if it is to improve the integrity of our electoral system?

This is the avenue that the NPP used to advance the many reforms part of our electoral laws, rules, and regulations today. I fancy the court option because it works.
