Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the vice-presidential candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has asserted that residents of Aowin who support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are undermining the nation.
During a rally attended by NPP supporters in Yakaase, located within the Aowin Constituency of the Western North Region, he expressed that casting a vote for the NDC would represent a disloyalty to the interests of the region, as the NPP has been responsible for all significant positive initiatives in Aowin.
He contended that the NDC does not demonstrate a sincere dedication to the region’s development, indicating that any vote for this party would be essentially futile.
Moreover, he highlighted that despite the substantial support the NDC has received in previous elections, the party has consistently overlooked the needs of the area when in power.
Despite the strides made by former party stalwarts like Gyato Kalio, Dankwa, Dombo, Baffour Akoto and Busia, the people of Enchi and Aowin did not remember the good things they had done for them.
He stated that the NPP has consistently demonstrated its commitment to being an inclusive party that practices non-discrimination. NAPO assured the audience that casting a vote for Dr. Bawumia equates to selecting a leader who will advance Ghana by enacting transformative policies aimed at fostering the nation’s development.
He also emphasized that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has neglected their development needs since 1992, despite their loyalty to the party, while noting that the Akufo-Addo administration has surpassed the NDC in its eight years of governance.
