The Berekum Traditional Council has ceremonially presented the key to Berekum to Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. This gesture signifies their unwavering endorsement of Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy for the presidency.
During his visit to Berekum on Friday morning, the Traditional Council granted the NPP flagbearer unrestricted access to the community, affirming their continued support for both the New Patriotic Party and Dr. Bawumia.
In his welcoming remarks, Osaberima praised Dr. Bawumia for his contributions as Vice President and articulated his vision for Ghana should he assume the presidency.
We have handed over the key to Berekum to you…You have not been President before but you have done a lot. As President, I believe you’ll do a lot…I urge the people to support you because I believe that if you are supported, you will do a lot for us and the country.
Berekum is very grateful to the NPP government for the development it has brought to us…You look at the market that has been built and also our main roads which have been tarred.
We are very fortunate because not every town has such opportunities. Berekum is very grateful…Berekum and your party are like twins. Always, we vote for you and I am confident the people will continue to support you because of what you bring on board.
The Chief, representing the Council, urged Dr. Bawumia to prioritize the completion of their road projects upon his ascension to the presidency. In response, Dr. Bawumia expressed his gratitude to the Council for their warm welcome and support, assuring them of his commitment to continue the positive initiatives established by his predecessors, President J.A. Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo.
Additionally, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has proven itself to be the sole political entity genuinely concerned for the welfare of all Ghanaians.
He highlighted various social interventions implemented under President Akufo-Addo, including the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Free Senior High School (SHS) education, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), the One Constituency One Ambulance initiative, and the Ghana Card, all of which are benefiting the populace.
