The Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has verified that the majority caucus is in full support of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s choice of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate for the upcoming December elections.
The verification was made after a private meeting between Afenyo-Markin and Dr. Bawumia on Friday, June 28, which took place at the Vice President’s residence. The meeting focused on Dr. Bawumia’s selection of a running mate and its impact on their electoral strategy.
During an interview with Accra-based Citi FM, Afenyo-Markin stressed the unanimous approval of Dr. Bawumia’s pick by the caucus.
He mentioned that following Dr. Bawumia’s announcement to the caucus, extensive consultations were conducted, resulting in overwhelming backing for the selected candidate.
Afenyo-Markin emphasized the confidence within the majority caucus in Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s abilities and contributions, showing a united front as they gear up for the upcoming political competition.
