THE NDC WILL CONTINUE TO BE IN OPPOSITION AS LONG AS WE MAINTAIN OUR UNITY – COKA

In under three months, Ghana will hold elections to select the next leader responsible for overseeing the nation’s affairs in 2025 and beyond.

Presently, parliamentary candidates throughout the country are utilizing various campaign platforms to persuade voters of the importance of supporting their candidacies.

On Sunday, September 1, 2024, in the Offinso South constituency, the former chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, along with his team, joined the parliamentary candidate for the region, Dr. Yaw Opoku Isaac, in his campaign efforts.

During a briefing with constituents, COKA emphasized the necessity of supporting the NPP candidate, stating that the party’s continued governance hinges on the unity of all its supporters.

We can be sure to remain the ruling party on condition that we all remain united, and by doing so the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will forever stay in opposition.

He urged the members to implement the door-to-door campaign to ensure that nothing is overlooked.

Campaigns do not end on the platforms, from here I encourage all of us to visit the constituents in their homes. Make them understand why it is important to retain the NPP. Make them understand that the NDC has nothing to offer them. And by doing so, be sure that this election is won.

COKA additionally urged the supporters to refrain from participating in “skirt and blouse” voting.

The fight in our parliament today is a result of the outcome of our votes in 2020. While you are voting for the candidate, don’t forget to vote for the flagbearer too. This is for purposes of productivity and smooth running of our next government.

Dr. Yaw Opoku Isaac, the candidate and incumbent Member of Parliament, urged his supporters to re-elect him in order to complete ongoing projects and foster development in Ofinso South.

I am yet to complete 4-year term in office, but when you look around, you realised that a lot has changed in terms of development. Yes, it may not be enough, and this is why I am appealing to you to vote for me and Dr Bawumia to enable my government to do more for our beloved constituency.

Honorable Collins Adomako Mensah, the Deputy Minister of Energy and Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre North, along with Kingsley Owusu Appiah, the Municipal Chief Executive for Offinso South, and the Regional Organizer, Francis Adomako, were notable attendees at the campaign event.

The Offinso South Constituency stands as a significant electoral stronghold for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). In the 2020 presidential election, this constituency provided over 36,000 votes in support of the NPP.

While the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is making considerable efforts to secure the seat, the NPP remains confident of achieving a larger victory margin on December 7.
