THE NDC’S CAMPAIGN IS TO MISREPRESENT THE ECONOMIC ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE NPP GOVERNMENT – RICHARD AHIAGBAH

The Communications Director of the NPP, Richard Ahiagbah, has refuted the NDC’s claims of an economic crisis.

He emphasized that the economy is steadily improving, with a notable GDP growth of 4.7 percent in the first quarter of 2024, surpassing the 4.2 percent growth in 2023.

Mr. Ahiagbah, in a recent statement on X, highlighted Ghana’s efforts to improve living conditions for its people and criticized the NDC for misrepresenting the government’s economic achievements.

The NDC campaign is to distort the economic record of this government to undermine its remarkable achievements by focusing solely on the present economic challenges.

He contended that the economic challenges stemmed mainly from the disturbances brought about by COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine War, both of which had a significant impact on the remarkable 7 percent average GDP growth during the initial tenure of the NPP administration.

Now, we are reclaiming our momentum and have the potential to surpass the 7% average growth in 2017, 2018, and 2019.

Let’s embrace the solution-led optimism of Dr. Bawumia and reject the baseless pessimism of the others.
