The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of recruiting individuals to manipulate the 2024 election and disrupt the nation’s peace.
The NPP National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye, also known as Nana B, made these allegations during a press conference on Wednesday.
He claimed that the recruitment was mainly happening in the NPP’s strongholds, though he did not specify any particular areas.
However, Nana B stressed that these efforts would not succeed, as the NPP remains alert and prepared.
He also pointed out that the NPP has worked hard to communicate its message to the Ghanaian people and is confident that its flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will win the presidency on December 7.
This comes after the NDC accused President Akufo-Addo of instructing Brigadier-General Michael Opoku, the General Officer Commanding the Central Command of the Ghana Armed Forces, to rig the election in favor of the NPP in the Ashanti Region.
The NDC Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, also claimed that Brigadier-General Opoku has been promised the position of Chief of Defence Staff if the NPP wins the 2024 election.
Mr. Gyamfi further alleged that the NDC has gathered intelligence suggesting that Brigadier-General Opoku is training NPP supporters at the Asutuare military camp.
