The Ashanti Region has been invigorated with enthusiasm by the Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during an interactive and vibrant tour. Led by the National Youth Organizer, Salam Mustapha, the tour took place from Wednesday, April 17 to Saturday, April 20.
Accompanied by young organizers from both constituency and regional levels of the party, along with other youth leaders, Salam Mustapha led a series of consultative and revitalizing engagements. The itinerary included media appearances to explain why the Ashanti Region should support Dr. Bawumia in around 13 constituencies.
In each visited constituency, the team interacted with specific youth groups to mobilize support for the party’s 2024 campaign. The focus was not only on securing votes but also on active involvement in campaign activities. Advocacy for endorsing the party’s parliamentary candidates in all constituencies of the region was also emphasized.
The constituencies visited during the tour comprised Bosome Freho, Juaben, Agona, Ejura, Kwabre East, Ejisu, Old Tafo, Manhyia South, Manhyia North, Oforikrom, and Bantama, with small rallies organized in some areas. Salam Mustapha stressed the significance of making informed decisions in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Through media interactions, he highlighted the achievements of the main candidates, portraying Dr. Bawumia as a forward-thinking and attentive leader in comparison to his rivals. By presenting Dr. Bawumia as the most suitable candidate, Salam Mustapha pointed out qualities like vision and responsiveness as proof.
He encouraged the region to back Dr. Bawumia, underscoring his perceived integrity by contrasting allegations of corruption against his competitors. Apart from political advocacy, Salam Mustapha and his team utilized the opportunity to educate first-time voters in the Ashanti Region on how to actively participate in the limited voter registration exercise scheduled from May 7 to May 27.
The tour functioned as a platform for educating youth groups on effective voter outreach techniques, with a commitment to replicate similar programs in other regions.
