THE PEOPLE OF GHANA HAVE WITNESSED SIGNIFICANT TRANSFORMATION OF THE POLICE SERVICE UNDER OUR ADMINISTRATION – BAWUMIA

The vice President and NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia highlighted substantial changes in Ghana’s Police Service during the commissioning of an ultra-modern police shop at the Police Headquarters in Accra.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized improvements in community engagement, intelligence operations, and readiness for the upcoming elections, outlining efforts to enhance security infrastructure nationwide.

The people of Ghana have witnessed a significant transformation of the Police Service under our administration, focusing on community and stakeholder engagement, enhanced intelligence operations, and ensured responsive preparation, especially for the general elections

He discussed the administration’s commitment to modernizing the Police Service, praising strengthened community relations and upgraded intelligence capabilities as pivotal in maintaining peace and security during electoral periods. Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of fostering trust through partnerships between law enforcement and local communities for effective policing.

Speaking at the same ceremony, Interior Minister Henry Quartey also addressed social media threats aimed at disrupting the electoral process. He cautioned against inflammatory online statements, stressing strict law enforcement to counter attempts to incite violence or destabilize democratic procedures.

Often times, we read in the papers, and we see people threatening on social media. Very soon, anybody who makes a threatening statement to incite violence before, during, and after the elections, we will make sure the law deals with the person in a court of competent jurisdiction

The commissioning of the ultra-modern police shop at the Police Headquarters, coupled with Dr. Bawumia’s remarks and Minister Quartey’s warnings, underscores the government’s proactive stance on security ahead of the upcoming elections. By prioritizing community engagement, enhancing intelligence operations, and addressing digital threats, the administration aims to ensure a safe and transparent electoral environment for all Ghanaians.
