THE PROPOSAL FOR A COUP D’E’TAT IS BOTH UNACCEPTABLE AND DEEPLY DISAPPOINTING – NANA B RESPONDS MAHAMA

Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed strong disapproval of the remarks made by former President John Dramani Mahama, which implied that the current administration’s poor governance could lead to a coup d’état.

He deemed these comments as both unacceptable and regrettable, emphasizing that the former President should refrain from making such statements, given the significant progress the nation has made in its democratic journey.

During his appearance on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia program, he articulated that, having experienced military coups and their associated consequences, it is inconceivable for anyone to advocate for a return to such circumstances.

I am a victim of former president Jerry John Rawlings’ coup and I can tell you that it is not a pleasant thing to remember.

My father a renowned business man went into exile, so many businesses collapsed. Some children even became fatherless because they did not have the chance to leave with their parents.

You cannot make such reckless statements because you are desperate for power. Ghanaians can clearly testify to the good works of the New Patriotic Party and nothing will sway them from voting vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to continue the good works of President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.

Former President John Dramani Mahama surprised numerous Ghanaians by suggesting the potential for a coup d’état in Ghana, citing the unprecedented frequency of corruption-related incidents involving government officials.

During a rally in the Okaikwei North Constituency of the Greater Accra Region, the former President criticized the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration for its involvement in embezzlement and other unlawful activities.

He remarked that had such a high incidence of corruption been evident during his administration, a coup would likely have taken place. In a widely circulated video observed by Peacefmonline, Mahama addressed his supporters, stating that.

if all these corrupt acts happening under NPP government had occurred under the NDC regime, the Military would have overthrown our government by now.

I’m telling you the truth! If this level of corruption and all the bad things we are seeing under the Bawumia/Akufo-Addo government had happened under NDC, there would have been a coup d’état.
