Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong has called on Ghanaians to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming December election, citing this as the “surest way” to protect the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.
During a campaign event in Okaikwei North alongside NPP Vice Presidential Candidate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Agyapong underscored the transformative impact of the Free SHS initiative, which he described as a game-changer for young Ghanaians.
Agyapong criticized the opposition NDC and former President John Mahama, reminding voters of their past resistance to the Free SHS policy and their active campaign against it.
“A political party [NDC] that vigorously campaigned against Free SHS can certainly not be trusted with the future of the policy. The surest way to protect Free SHS is for Ghanaians to vote for H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP in the December polls,” he stated.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh reinforced Agyapong’s message, highlighting the current government’s efforts to alleviate the cost of living and pledging that a Bawumia-led administration would introduce more business-friendly initiatives to improve livelihoods.
He urged market women and traders to support both Bawumia and the NPP parliamentary candidate, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah, to safeguard Free SHS and foster continued development in their community.
