Bernard Allotey Jacobs has cautioned the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and their presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, against the misconception that Donald Trump’s victory in this year’s United States election will automatically translate into success for them in Ghana.
Certain members and supporters of the NDC have taken to social media to celebrate Trump’s win, drawing parallels between the US election and Ghana’s forthcoming electoral contest.
They believe that the outcome of the US election will significantly influence the political landscape in Ghana; however, Allotey Jacobs holds a contrary perspective.
As a former Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Allotey Jacobs has advised his former party not to assume that Ghanaians will grant them an unqualified victory simply because Trump has been elected as the 47th President of the United States.
Let’s not have that illusion that if Trump as a former President has won in America, it can happen in Ghana. It is not possible!
I want to make it emphatically clear that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the next President of Ghana.
