President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has called on Ghanaians to refrain from voting for John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming December elections, cautioning that such a decision could undo Ghana’s progress.
He asserted that Mahama and the NDC lack innovative ideas and effective policies to address Ghana’s current challenges.
In his address to chiefs and elders in the Western North Region, President Akufo-Addo praised Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, as a symbol of renewed hope and growth.
He described Dr. Bawumia as a visionary leader capable of driving modernization and economic development, contrasting this with what he characterized as stagnation during previous NDC administrations.
President Akufo-Addo also referenced the closure of Kumasi Brewery under Mahama’s leadership, questioning the NDC’s vision for a 24-hour economy.
He noted, “You want to implement a 24-hour economy, but couldn’t manage the one you inherited. Let’s not make the mistake of moving backward. Let’s support Bawumia in leading Ghana to new heights.”
