VOTE FOR DR. BAWUMIA AND VINCENT ASSAFUAH – NAPO TO RESIDENTS OF OLD TAFO

The Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has emphasized that former President John Mahama is no longer a significant figure in politics and should not be regarded as a reliable source for addressing the nation’s challenges.

Speaking to a large gathering of NPP supporters in Tafo Pankrono, Ashanti Region, he remarked that former President Mahama, who is the flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming 2024 elections, had the chance to lead the country but failed to establish a meaningful legacy.

A substantial number of NPP supporters and sympathizers filled the streets of Old Tafo Pankrono to participate in the rally. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh also visited the Old Tafo Constituency, which is represented in Parliament by his political protégé, Vincent Ekow Assafuah.

During his visit, he stopped by Assafuah 92.7 FM, the constituency’s first community radio station founded by the MP, and inaugurated the newly built Pankrono Police Station.

These achievements signify the concrete advancements being made in the constituency under his guidance. In his discussions with market women, community leaders, and rally attendees, he reiterated Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s steadfast dedication to enhancing Ghana’s progress and development.

He reminded the audience that John Mahama, after his unsuccessful presidency and two rejections, has little to contribute to the nation.

His days in office were some of the most remarkable in the history of Ghana’s Fourth Republic with Ghana’s perennial electricity problem, notoriously known as ‘dum sor’ punctuating much of the administration.

Mahama also made some controversial decisions, including canceling teacher and nursing trainee allowances while allowing the then opposition, NPP brand him as an incompetent leader. Therefore, any bid from him to become president again must to be seen through the lens of his past days in office.
