Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) have aired their admiration for the flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, ahead of the upcoming December 7th elections.
Speaking in a press conference, the communications officer of the group, Mr. Gilbert Boateng Agyare underscored the NPP’s achievements in implementing social intervention initiatives that directly benefit the group.
We are strongly behind Dr. Bawumia because of NPP on account of its social intervention programs that affect persons with Disabilities. Disability legislation, common Fund for PWDS, Economic empowerment of PWDs, and bursaries for students with Disabilities in tertiary institutions.
He highlighted the importance of Dr. Bawumia’s leadership in shaping Ghana’s development trajectory, highlighting his ability to promote cohesion among Ghanaians from various religious and social groups.
He stressed that particular measures implemented by the NPP administration led by Dr. Bawumia, including the incorporation of PWDs into the National Youth Employment Agency (NYEA) program, have offered them long-term job prospects after the discontinuation of tollbooth activities.
