WE DOUBTED AGENDA 111, BUT YOU’VE PROVEN US WRONG – DORMAAHENE TO BAWUMIA

After receiving a courtesy visit from Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia recently, Osagyefuo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, the paramount chief of the Dorma Traditional Council and president of the Bono House of Chiefs, expressed renewed confidence in the government’s Agenda 111 plan.

The chief and his elders participated in a Stakeholder Consultation Forum on Wednesday, October 9, at the Dormaahene Palace, as part of the Vice President’s tour. There, they had talks on a range of developmental issues that the region faces.

While acknowledging the early uncertainty around Agenda 111, Dormaahene stated in his speech that reservations had been alleviated by the government’s dedication and success.

He emphasized the initiative’s potential to enhance the local healthcare system and the good effects it might have on the general wellbeing of the community.

The chief also used the occasion to talk about the Dormaa East “One District, One Factory” project and to advocate for the introduction of other development projects in the area.

The chief also wished Vice President Bawumia luck in his bid to become the country’s leader and endorsed his campaign.

In order to forward development projects that are in line with the objectives and goals of the community, he emphasized the significance of ongoing cooperation between traditional leaders and the government.

Regarding environmental issues, Osagyefuo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II expressed his adamant opposition to galamsey, or illicit mining.

In order to preserve the environment for future generations, he emphasized the necessity for sustainable behaviors and encouraged the government to act decisively to stop the threat.

“My Vice President, it is true we chiefs don’t do politics, but as your spokesperson, Dr. Gideon Boako mentioned during the introduction that we can not close our eyes to the many development interventions your government has brought to Ghana, and also Dormaaman.” “Here at Dormaa, we are very much aware of the many road improvements you have brought to us. We can boast of asphalts here, and even my palace has benefited,” he said.
