Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, the Minister of Finance, has urged residents of the Upper East Region to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
Speaking to the people of Binduri Constituency during Dr. Bawumia’s constituency-focused tour of the region, Dr. Adam highlighted that the Upper East Region has traditionally supported the National Democratic Congress (NDC). However, he called on the residents to cast their votes for Dr. Bawumia in the December 7 elections to ensure the continuation of the NPP’s successful social intervention policies.
Historically, the Upper East Region has leaned towards the NDC, with the NPP securing only one Parliamentary seat in 2020. Dr. Adam believes it’s time for a shift in voting patterns.
Upper East must make a change this time. Vote for a leader who brings genuine development
Dr. Adam pointed out the recent change in voting patterns in the Northern Region, which now favors the NPP. He encouraged the Upper East Region to follow this trend, stating,
Upper East must also demonstrate to the NDC that it’s time for progress. We need Dr. Bawumia to advance our region and transform the North from one of the most deprived areas into a beacon of development.
Accompanied by key government and former government officials, including Defence Minister Mr. Dominic Nitiwul, former Interior Minister Mr. Ambrose Dery, and Regional Minister Alhaji Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, Dr. Bawumia embarked on a four-day campaign tour through the region.
Addressing a vibrant crowd, Alhaji Dr. Bawumia emphasized the significance of having another northerner in the presidency, following the example set by previous northern leaders. He argued that the opportunity to lead should now be his.
Mr. Abdulai Abanga, MP for Binduri Constituency, praised the development projects initiated by the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration in his constituency. He appealed to his constituents to re-elect him to continue advocating for further development.
The call to action was clear: Dr. Bawumia’s leadership represents a promising path forward, with the potential to bring transformative change and progress to the Upper East Region.
