The leaders of Obuasi have voiced their robust endorsement for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and have bestowed their blessings for his success in the forthcoming elections.
This support, attributed to his evident humility and commitment, was expressed during a campaign visit to the region. Speaking on behalf of the chiefs of the Adansi Traditional Council, the Kontihene of Dompoase, Nana Keteke Appenteng II, indicated that they had ceremonially “handed the steer” to Dr. Bawumia.
Nana Appenteng commended Dr. Bawumia for his diligence and the respectful demeanor he consistently exhibits, attributes that he noted have endeared him to numerous Ghanaians.
In reply, Dr. Bawumia reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring equitable benefits for chiefs and communities situated in mining regions, assuring that revenues generated from local mineral resources would be directed towards their development.
This assurance was articulated during a collaborative stakeholder engagement in Obuasi East and West, which were significant stops on his campaign trail in the area.
