Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has emphasized that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who is also the flagbearer of the NPP, will employ gold to stabilize the cedi.
According to Mr Ahiagbah, if Vice President Bawumia is elected president this year, the upcoming NPP government will bolster the value of the cedi. He further asserts that the depreciation of the cedi will become a thing of the past under a Bawumia administration.
Speaking in an interview with journalists in Kumasi on Monday, he mentioned that the NDC must disclose their equivalent solution to the Cedi and outline their strategies for the currency to the people of Ghana.
Be Bold with Bawumia. He will use our gold to back the cedi to make it stable. This is a Bold solution to stabilize the cedi. Depreciation will be a thing of the past because the cedi will be sufficiently stable under Bawumia.
What is NDC’s comparable solution to the Cedi? They have to tell Ghanaians their measures for the Cedi.
