During a courtesy visit to the Catholic Bishop of the Sunyani Diocese and President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference, Most Rev. Mathew Kwesi Gyamfi, on Wednesday, October 9, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia reaffirmed his commitment to an open-door government if elected, promising that all faith-based organizations will have equal and unrestricted access to his office.
He emphasized the importance of recognizing the church and faith-based organizations as essential development partners. This visit, which preceded his campaign in the Bono Region, highlighted his dedication to enhancing the relationship between the government and faith-based entities.
Dr. Bawumia sought the Bishop’s prayers and spiritual blessings, underscoring the church’s crucial role in national development. He noted that religious institutions, particularly the Catholic Church, would significantly influence policy-making and contribute to the nation’s progress.
The Vice President stressed that collaboration with faith-based organizations is vital for tackling pressing societal issues and fostering national unity.
