WITHOUT GOD’S GUIDANCE, ALL OUR EFFORTS ARE IN VAIN– BAWUMIA

Vice President and NPP Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Reaffirms His Faith in God’s Guidance for the Nation

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has once again expressed his strong belief that it is only through God’s guidance that all things are possible.

As he campaigns to become the next President, after serving as Vice President for the past eight years, Dr. Bawumia’s campaign slogan, “It is possible,” reflects his unwavering faith in God’s power to shape the future.

While addressing a Catholic congregation in Atimatim, Afigya Kwabre East Constituency, on Sunday, as part of his ongoing tour, Dr. Bawumia reiterated his conviction, telling the congregation, “With God, all things are possible.”

He reflected on his journey to the Presidential nomination, which began last year when the NPP elected him as their candidate—a moment he described as divinely orchestrated. Dr. Bawumia emphasized that every step he has taken on this path has been guided by God and reaffirmed his commitment to continue seeking His divine favor in his pursuit of the presidency.

Unless God builds the house, you labour in vain

Dr. Bawumia, referencing Psalm 127, emphasized his unwavering trust in the sovereignty of God.

Dr. Bawumia’s reference to a poignant Christian scripture to affirm his belief in God’s sovereignty was met with enthusiastic applause from the congregation, who appreciated his thoughtful connection. Despite being a Muslim, Dr. Bawumia’s use of the Bible to reinforce his message resonated deeply with those present, showcasing his respect for all faiths.

In a remarkable display of unity, Dr. Bawumia’s visit to the Catholic Church brought together members of both leading faiths in the country—Christianity and Islam. The event saw a diverse group of leaders, including Imams, Zongo Chiefs, members of the clergy, and traditional rulers from the constituency, gathered under one roof.

The Imams, clergy, and traditional leaders expressed their joy at witnessing such a display of tolerance and unity, particularly with the Imams joining the service. Dr. Bawumia also praised this inspiring moment, noting that the sight of religious leaders from different faiths coming together reflected the peace and harmony that defines Ghanaian society.

There is peace and understanding between Muslims and Christians in Ghana and it is one of the reasons we have peace

It is so beautiful to see Imams here in this Chapel. This reflects our mutual understanding and respect for each other. You will hardly see this anywhere in the world but this is happening in Ghana one

Let us continue to live in harmony and continue to respect one another
