Former Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan, has made it clear that he is willing to accept the proposal of becoming the running mate to Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, should it be presented to him.
In an interview on Onua Maakye on Onua Tv on Monday, April 15, he mentioned that everybody would be more than willing to accept that offer because it is a great honor, stating hat he would gladly accept the offer if presented to him.
However, Gyan refuted the idea, revealing that even though they are appealing, they are just rumors
Honor is something everybody likes. I won’t reject it but I know that’s big.
He mentioned that he is willing to share his experience and knowledge to contribute to the advancement of sports in the nation.
Gyan serves as the head of the Sports Sub-Committee under Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s manifesto committee. His role involves assisting the NPP Presidential Candidate in developing a comprehensive sports manifesto for the upcoming December 7 elections.
Recently, he initiated the All Regional Games, a new multi-sport event aimed at showcasing the country’s sporting talents. A regional tour is set to kick off on Tuesday, April 16 and will continue until the following month in preparation for the national championships
