Former Black Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan has revealed that he was invited by flagbearer Dr. Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to contribute his ideas towards developing the sports industry in Ghana.
He emphasized on the need to bring on board all the 20 years of experience he has accumulated from playing football to aid in developing and growing the sports industry in the country.
Gyan has been appointed as the Chairman of the Sports Subcommittee for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s Manifesto Team in preparation for the 2024 presidential election in December. He shared that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership sought his advice on improving Ghanaian sports.
After presenting his ideas, Gyan recalls being given the responsibility of chairing the subcommittee based on the quality of his proposals
So I was invited to contribute my ideas, they were pleased with it and asked me to chair the committee. But people affiliate everything to politics.
He encourages people to not let potential criticism discourage them, highlighting the significance of taking proactive steps to create a beneficial influence.
If you have something to help, do it. Don’t look at what people will say. There are many people with ideas but because of backlash, people fear to help with what they have.
